JOB SUMMARY:
Primary functions: Assist the payroll team in processing all semi-monthly payrolls. Payroll Specialist will be primary contact with GL accounting and Finance team for reports and variance questions. Analyze all taxation processes such as payments and set-ups with regards to government, state and local agencies. Assist with HR/Payroll related special projects as needed. This position must be able to work independently, as well as a team player, and be a self-starter.

MAJOR TASKS / ACTIVITES:
·         Process all changes submitted to the Payroll Department which include but are not limited to:
o    Change of Address
o    Stock Option processing in ADP
o    Assist with Annual Benefit changes
·         Process all Stock Option
·         Assist with annual Benefit changes
·         Review quarterly tax filings and assist applicable payroll team with corrections
·         Workers ‘ Compensation payments and audits
·         Assist in standardizing ADP master data set up
·         Assist with yearend processing
·         Complete training with Payroll Processor to achieve cross training for all company codes
·         Perform additional miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and/or needed
·         Continual documentation of all payroll processes for cross training
 
QUALIFYING JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
·         Required: 
o    Understanding of and adherence to confidentiality and compliance requirements
o    The knowledge and ability to go beyond merely processing transactions
o    Detail oriented in ensuring back up information is provided and retained accordingly
o    Strong organizational and analytical skills
o    Desire to excel in customer (employee) service
o    The ability and willingness to support team members as needed
o    Ability to manage multiple tasks a must 
 
·         Preferred
o    Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
o    Ability to work productively under tight timelines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (include certifications)
o    Required:
o    High School diploma or GED, and some college.
o    At least four - six years of progressive experience in payroll is highly desirable.
o    Experience handling high volume of data input. 
o    Preferred:
o    Advance excel 2007 skills
o    Knowledge of wage and hour laws
o    ADP experience

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision a Senior Payrolll Accounting Technician reviews and corrects discrepancies and errors in certain components of the payroll cycle or process. An incumbent also solves payroll problems requiring extensive search of records and source documents, applying a thorough knowledge of the interrelated parts of the payroll system in performing difficult and moderately complex work. An incumbent is required to maintain the security and confidentiality of payroll information and must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in contacts with district employees and other public agencies. An incumbent may also serve in a lead capacity to other payroll staff in guiding and assisting them in their assigned duties; and perform related duties as assigned.  
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Equivalent to graduation from high school. Course work at an accredited institution in accounting and/or financial record keeping is desirable.
